Would this reduce center channel reflection?

If I was unable to move my center channel speaker forward, causing a reflection issue, would placing some kind of fabric in front of the speaker reduce the reflection and be beneficial, rather than leaving the untreated surface bare?

The fabric wont fix the reflection problem. If it does anything at all it will absorb certain frequencies and possibly lower the speakers volume at the

LP even more. Which is the problem in the first place. I have a similar set up and I made a custom platform for my TV and the center channel sits in but the speaker is at the edge of the equipment rack and tilted up toward the LP. It makes a big difference in clarity and volume and it looks good to. The platform is also a pedestal design without walls so it wont cause sound problems and the tv looks like it's floating because you can see through it to the back wall from several seating positions.

Awesome, if you're willing, could you take some pictures of your setup for some ideas?
Here you go. It's basically two pieces of wood with a PVC riser construction. There's a cross brace running along the back and on the sides for strength. After I built the platform I decided to move the center channel out to the very edge of the shelf and angle it up with foam wedges to get the best sound. I had the speaker pushed back a bit before but there where some reflection issues from the glass shelf and not the platform.

OK I see. That's basically what I pictured. What center channel is that? That horn tweeter's dispersion looks pretty serious.
It's a Cerwin Vega CLS-6c center channel. It's pretty big. It has dual 6" drivers with a horn loaded silk dome tweeter.
