Would Wirns Help if Lineup was completely wrong?

I've got a question for anyone who's knowledgeable about WIRNS.

My problem is that my cable co (Astound) here in Northern CA was bought out by Wave Broadband a couple of weeks ago. On 12/23, my replay downloaded a new channel guide that was completely incorrect. It looks like a channel guide for the Los Angeles area. When I saw what happened that night, I immediately called Replay, but they were closed for the holidays already. I also emailed zap2it that same day.

Apparently everyone at Replay and Zap2it was out for the holidays, and the guide is still wrong. I was finally able to contact Replay today, and they said they'd received reports of the problem, and it might still take 72 hours to fix!

My question is, would WIRNS have stored a copy of my old guide information that I could have reverted to? Could I build my own guide with WIRNS? Or would I have been in the same boat regardless? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks!
wirns relys on zap2it for guide info. If a local channel's lineup suddenly changes, and zap2it is just as wrong as replaytv, then you'd have the same problem. This is assuming you do what most wirns users do: let wirns update it's guide info daily and have the replays net connect via wirns daily. OTOH, if zap2it was correct, you'd be fine.

You could have things set up to NOT update the guide that often and so in that case, you could retain an old guide for longer. You could stop the auto updating and hold onto an old guide until it was out of date. I think your replays would start complaining about not being able to complete a net connect.

You can also have wirns backup it's guide data and restore a backup guide but you'd have to catch wirns before the backup gets overwritten with a new incorrect version.

Thanks for the info. I kind of figured that would be the case. So I would have been SOL no matter what. Oh well.

It looks like Replay corrected the problem although it still seems to be wrong on the zap2it web site and on data direct. Which is wierd, since their always supposed to be the same.
