Would you recommend buying the warranty with Onkyo TX NR709? Neweggs price is getting hard to resist, but I should I get the warranty? 1 year or 2?

Newegg is an authorized Onkyo reseller so the Onkyo 2 year warranty is valid and if you purchase with a credit card, many will add an additional year to that for a total of 3 years which should be sufficient.

mfrs warranty is already 2 years. I've never had a receiver go bad on me but these past few years of Onkyo's have had some HDMI board problems. I think the new 09 series doesn't run hot like the previous years so you should be okay.

I've had 3 Onkyos go bad on me. Buy the warranty.

504---broke after warranty

705---broke one month after warranty

809---broke within 3 days sending back to amazon on my own dime


My Pioneer Elite SC-35 with a 4 year ST warranty comes in today.
