Digital connection to what? Computer speakers with a digital input? I would think that would be the cleanest audio if you have that ability. Computers are not known for their noise isolation. A sound card may not do the best job of filtering out all the noise and some might bleed into the analog audio path. And there's the issue of how good the ground is as well.
DACs all measure very well. I would not worry about DAC quality. If you connect via S/PDIF, you won't have to consider it, as you will use your receiver's DACs.
