If i1Diagnostics ( versions 2.5.1 or 4.0.0 ) is installed onto a Windows 8.1 operating system, software may fail to see connected instruments.
This utility patches the expected locations of instrument drivers and corrects this situation.
i1 Driver Installer Fix for Windows 8.1
Problem:
On Windows 8.1 systems (32 and 64 bit) there will be a problem with the i1 driver installation if the driver installation is carried out as part of the installation of older versions of i1Diagnostics 2.5.x and i1Diagnostics 4.0.0.
Users will see this problem if i1 drivers are installed for the first time on 8.1.
The problem does not happen if the drivers were installed on 8.0 and then upgraded to 8.1.
The problem also does not happen if the drivers were installed as part of an X-Rite software package such as i1Profiler prior to installing i1Diagnostics.
Affected devices:
• i1Pro
• i1iO
• i1iSis
• i1Display V1/V2
Symptoms:
If the i1 driver is not installed correctly a connected i1 device will not be recognized by i1Diagnostics 2.5.x or 4.0.0 or other X-Rite software which supports i1 devices.
Check if the driver is installed correctly:
Right-click on the start menu and select Device Manager. If the connected i1 device shows a yellow exclamation mark, the driver is not installed properly.
Solution:
Run the appropriate i1DriverInstallerFix.exe for your system architecture (32 or 64 bits).
Follow these steps:
1. unzip the appropriate 32 or 64 bit package for your system architecture.
2. disconnect your i1 device
3. run i1DriverInstallerFix.exe. The \Drivers folder must be in the same location as the executable application.
4. a command window will open and the application will execute a series of steps to repair the driver installation. At the end of successful execution a message will appear in the command window saying 'Press any key to continue'.
5. you should now be able to connect your i1 device and have it recognized by i1Diagnostics 2.5.x or 4.0.0 and other X-Rite software applications. The yellow exclamation mark should be gone from the device in your system Device Manager.
6. if the repair is not successful, restart your system and run i1DriverInstallerFix again.
Note that there are two patches: one for
32-bit PCs and the other for
64-bit .
