I have had my x1 on a shelf for a long time but am now mounting it on the ceiling. I am trying to determine the correct mounting position but I have a question I can't find the answer to. I am hoping someone can help me out.

The lens is offset from the center of the projector by 2.56". Does this mean that if the center of the projector was aligned with the center of the room that the image would also be offset by 2.56"? Or is the lens angled such that if the center of the projector is aligned with the center of the room, the image would also be centered?

Put another way, if I want the image to be centered, should I mount the projector with the lens aligned with the center of the room, or with the center of the projector aligned with the center of the room?

Someone has to have the answer to this question but I have searched at length and haven't found it. Any help appreciated!

What I did when mounting my X1 was to build a stand out of 2x4's tall enough so the X1 touched the ceiling when put on the stand upside down with the mount already attached. Once I had the image perfect I just marked the ceiling and bada bing it was perfect.

Not that measuring and math can't achieve the same objective, but one little mistake and bam you're toast........ :)
