Hi guys,

I thought I remembered reading a while back that someone else had this

problem, but I couldn't find it in the search function.

When I power down, I see a 1/2 moon like ring on the screen. I also notice

that around the outside of my picture the blacks are not as dark as the

rest of the picture. Anyone else had these problems ? Send your PJ back to

InFocus ? What was the result ?

I am in Canada and really not looking to lose use of my PJ for that long to

get it fixed. Sad thing is, I've only had my PJ for ~40 days or so.

I have a similar effect. According to others, this is most probably dirt inside the X1.

I have tried to clean it, but no impact.

For now I try to live with it (as it can be seen anyways only rarely) - but if it gets much worse, I will consider contacting Infocus for a solution.

(I am also in Canada).

Hey man,

Thanks for the reply. I thought I remembered someone else saying it was

a problem with the optical lens block but -like I mentioned previously- I

tried to find the thread and couldn't :(

Where are you located in Canada ? I am in Kitchener, Ontario.

I see the same thing at shut down, but I see no signs of it when watching a movie, or even looking at a black picture. I think its only at shut down that most people get this weird light effect. If it happens during a movie and you can see it, then you should send it back. But if it happens just at shut down I think its normal.

that is normal with a stock x1. a fully modified x1 doesn't have those problems.

I think you may be right on the money, Ken. I believe that was the one I

looked at, but I remembered it having something to do with a 1/2 moon

shaped spot. Hmmm....

I do notice a difference in black levels in the screen corners, although not

during a movie. I think I need to do a bit more observing and maybe

experiment with a few things. I will be using it to play computer games,

though, so I hope it isn't something that gets more noticeable with that

type of source.

I can't wait to hook up my PC and play Colin McRae Rally 2 on it !!

Thanks for the help...
