I am new to the forum. Great one. I am setting up a home theater room for my house. I am thinking about Infocus x1. Any one in the forum have any experience getting a refurbished unit? Still haven't decide which one of the following to get: Infocus x1, epson s1, or benq 6100. Any comment would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought my X1 for $799 new and love it. I would not buy the Epson S1, it does not even have a zoom lens. Read the reviews of the X1 and Benq 6100 at Projectorcentral.com and then decide. There are still X1's out there at a great price.

^ I agree. I got my X1 brand new for 900$, JUST before it fell to 769. Even so, compared to the 1000$ 30" HDTV I was looking at I couldn't be hapier. Given how I am not affected by rainbows at all the X1's superior lamp life and Faroudja deinterlacer chip and cost proved to be more then a match for the 6100 and S1.

Can't go wrong with the X1. Even years later and now obsolute it is a great buy.

6100 has inferior deinterlacing........ i have seen a "higher" model PB7220 benq and IMHO is unwatchable with normal video source, HTPC it was good, but even still with 1024 x 768 in a shootout vs the X1 they where damn close (discounted the brightness difference).

I can't tell you about a refurbished X1 in particular. I have had great experience with my X1, love it more every day. Also, I've gotten many refurbished pieces of gear over the years and have had nothing but good experiences there also.
