I've had my X1 for more than a year now and have a bit of advice in case you're starting to wonder if the grass is greener on some other projector: clean the optical path.

when you clean the mesh on the lamp, take a Q-tip soaked in Windex and clean the window on the lamp housing. Then clean the residue from the color wheel. W/ the projector mounted near the ceiling I haven't figured out how to do it well, but even done so-so the results are remarkable. use several Q-tips and don't wait to change from one to another until you see dirt or you'll just be pushing the crud around rather than cleaning it off.

I wiped from the center to the outside, then turn the wheel a bit and repeat, until the whole whell was cleaned. like I said, it's a clumsy process.

I'll be doing this every 3 months ago.
