ok im going to be selling my old projector and get a new one. Im looking at either the Infocus X1 or the BenQ PB6100. What are the pro and cons of each? And which one is better? Also what is the difference beteween the X1 and X1a?

x1 has faroudja deinterlacer, 6100 has a 3x color wheel x1 has a 2x (faster=less rainbows if you see them)


X1a is a stripped down x1 (no faroudja) that is slightly brigher.

limited budget. i heard the X1 was a good projector for the money. then i heard that the pb6100 was pretty good too.

If you will be watching cable TV, then get the X1; if just DVD, maybe the 6100 may be better if you have ambient light issues. X1 suits me just fine in my basement where I have full control of light.

I agree. And I like watching DVDs on my Xbox as it only outputs a 480i signal for DVD and the X1's own faroudja chip is better then most chips you'll find in even progressive scan DVD players anyway.
