I noticed that Xantech do a plasma friendly IR receiver but at 5 times the cost of the regular receiver. Being cheap I went with the non-plasma variant figuring I could put it at a "safe" distance from the screen. The question is how far away from the screen does the receiver need to be to avoid interference? I am at the wiring stage and don't have a plasma yet to try it out. I would hate to drywall everything and find I need to move it 2" to the left.........

Any experience or thoughts much appreciated.

ah. That sounds serious. Any thoughts about how I can recover the situation without having to spend an extra $500? I will have 2 plasma screens in the basement in the bar and gym as well as a projector for the HT room and wanted to run everything from one system. I suppose I could go for large LCD screens instead of plasma.

Fantastic - that's what I love about this forum. Someone, somewhere has had the same problem and fixed it!

Thanks for the link Brucer.
