Has anyone any personal experience on this unit? I am building a house with 8 zones of audio and need to tell builder how to prewire.

Are the xantech units something an average home audio guy could install or do you need a professional level of expertise?

I don't think you can get the Xantech MRC88 and install it yourself. I think it has to be professionally installed.

The installation manual for the MRC88 is available on Xantech's website, and linked below. An average home audio guy, well no, but an above averge one could put it together and a savvy client could program their own system, as long as one used the MRC88 keypad, not anything else. I would contact a local installer and try to make some sort of arrangement, you may want a bit of help after all. At the very least, you will need the programming software in addition to the MRC88 itself.
