I currently have my xbox 360 connected to my 1080P DLP and an optical cable to the receiver so I can enjoy 5.1. my question...Should i run the component to my Elite 84 receiver than out to the TV? Do I benefit from this? Would it work?

My current setup...

Samsung DLP 1080P HLS 61"

Pioneer Elite 84

Panasonic Blu-ray hooked via HDMI

D*tv HR20-700 hooked via HDMI

Xbox 360 HD dvd hooked via component to tv

Thanks

The best option would be to hook up directly to the set as this means less devices for the signal to go through. But sometimes it is easier to switch between inputs if you have the receiver handle all video to one output.

Now if you have a Harmony remote then I would recommend utilizing component direct to the tv as the remote can be setup to handle complicated setups.
