I have a HD-DVD add-on in use with the Xbox 360 connected to my Sony KDL-40V2500 via HDMI. For some reason when playing HD-DVD movies, the TV will at a regular interval blink black screen momentarily for less than 1 second.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it does this. Anyone have any suggestions?

When playing games on the 360, it works fine. The 360 has NXE installed and is set to 1080p.

Help would be much appreciated!

It sounds like the vcr problem I have the with Denon 1909. It is also connected via HDMI and black screens every few seconds on the TV.

My 360is connected via component and works just fine. A correlation, perhaps?

I am having the same issue ... any recommended resolutions? Is there any way of upgrading the firmware on the HD DVD player for the 360?

To add to the discussion, ONLY the video cuts out during these periods .. the audio stream continues playing without any disruption. The black screen can last for up to a few seconds at a time.

It's not the problem of HD-DVD. Basically, all you guys' issues are typical of HDCP problem. 360 games doesn't require HDCP but HD-DVD does. So does the copy-protected DVD.

There are many reasons why you encounter HDCP problems.
