xbox 360 not displaying camera pictures

I have a Canon Powershot S30. According to the xbox 360 user's manual I should be able to connect my digital camera to the 360 with a USB cable and then view the pictures on my HDTV.

When I connect my camera to my 360 it makes a sound implying that it connected but I cannot view any of the pictures through the 360. The digital camera option is not selectable on the dashboard. I have my camera set to "view" mode.

Do I need to download a live update or something? Has anyone got this feature to work?

Thanks

I also have an S30 (wel had, it just croaked), and I never really had a lot of luck trying the USB method on my PC either so I wouldn't hold my breath. Better to just put the pics on your PC and send them to the 360 that way. Works great for me. Gotta take them off your camera sometime anyway :D

I also have this camera and have connected successfully to my 360. I tried it once to verify but I can't say that I plan to invite friends over to view vacation photos on my widescreen TV......... :D

The PC method mentioned above is probably your best bet.
In order for the camera to work with the XBox360, it needs to act as a standard USB storage device. The Canon probably does not act as a standard device. It probably requires drivers, which the XBox360 doesn't have. This is true of my Pentax camera as well.
You might try to plug your card into a usb 2.0 card reader and connect it to the 360.
