XBOX ONE Update Fixed Netflix! **UPDATE**

Well, I'm thankful that the last system update fixed the horrendous quality (think VHS tape with chunks of pepperoni and moldy cheese slathered on the tape) issues with Netflix. Now that it's actually working I personally think I may use it more than the PS4's Netflix. The Xbone's Netflix GUI implementation, IMO, is better.

Anyone else notice that Netflix works now?

Sadly not for me. Do you mean the February update or this new special beta update?
The February update.
What about the audio from the surround channels with the apps? Are they still swapped? The surround audio comes out of the rear surrounds in a 7.1 setup.
Netflix is still a disaster for me. I tried switching the streaming quality from Auto to High many weeks ago, and it provided temporary relief. Since then, it's back to horrendous quality (it's even sub-SD at this point). It's completely unwatchable on X1. Even my old standby for Netflix, the PS3, isn't nearly as reliable as it used to be. I'm not sure what Netflix is doing, but since I already have Amazon Prime (whose streaming works flawlessly on all of my devices), I'm seriously considering canceling Netflix streaming. It will be sad to say goodbye to an old friend, but that friend hasn't been kind to me lately.,,
Where is the quality setting changed? Also, just curious, but who's your ISP?

Log into the website and under account settings you can set the stream.

ATT Uverse. I'm not sure whether to blame my ISP (since net neutrality got struck down) or Netflix. I did a little more testing, and I have no problem getting Super HD during off-peak hours. In prime time, I'm lucky to get 240p which is simply unwatchable.
I just checked out Netflix with the new update. The surround audio is still borked. It still comes out of the wrong surround channels.

I know they released the One half-baked but if they are trying to convince people this is "the One" they can't have basic things like audio still messed up...embarrassing...

I could understand this is even half of the user base even used surround sound and not just the tv to care. Majority of users don't use surround sound in homes or apartments for this to be a huge issue. I get it about it be relevant here but this isn't the case overall.

There is still no reason for the surround channels to be swapped so the audio incorrectly comes out of the rear surround channels. At least it works properly with Blu-ray Discs. But surround audio is nothing new. I've been using surround systems since 1991. It's 2014. There shouldn't be a problem with mapping the channels correctly. Especially since it should be an easy fix.
Strange I haven't had any instances of bad soundtracks on Netflix yet. I have been doing a lot of TV shows lately, but they have been 5.1. I'll have to double check when I watch more movies.

I use the Netflix test stream that shows the bitrates. The 5.1 track of that has audio test tones where they say which speaker it's for before the tones start. The XBOne is the only device I've tried it on where the surround channels come out of the rear surrounds in my 7.1 setup.

Where do you go to run the test at?
The title is "Example Short 23.976"

It should show up if you search for it on the Netflix site. Then you can add it to the instant queue.
Sadly, Netflix is back to less than acceptable quality. Over the past few days I've noticed quality dipping. Not nearly as bad as pre-February update, but bad nonetheless.

I switched back to watching Netflix on the PS4, but it's an inconvenience. But hey, PQ always wins.

I am in the update preview program and it updated on Tuesday but I hardly think Netflix was touched in the update. The UI looks identical.

Any way, just thought I'd update the thread. Microsoft still has a lot of work to do on this platform.

What system are you on. I have Time-Warner and I get hd quality when running Netflix. Granted, I have it built in the tv and usually use that but I tried the Xbox version and it was very close to the same quality. Since I only have it hooked straight to the tv I can't test out the sound except it sounds fine when I use headphones. Once I have my home theater back up, I know it would bother me that the surround is borked. I am on a 50/5 system.
I have Time Warner cable too. The PQ is very noticeable between PS4 and Xbox One.
