Others have reported no A/V lag with the new HLS models, so you should be fine. If you can swing the extra $$, a 1080p display is definitely the way to go (better resolution, better contrast and black levels).

Xbox Output to HL-SXX87W Samsungs
So what output are you sending from the 360 to the 1080p Samsung DLPs?
I've read about lag, and conversion, etc. I was origionally planning on buying a 720p TV as I thought it would reduce this issue, but now I'm thinking a 1080p TV is worth the extra cost.
How would this affect gameplay? What are hte pros and cons. What does the 360 look like on these TVs?
