I'm trying to play .wav files on my 360 streamed from a pc.

I can do this with .mp3 files btucan't get .wav files to work.

Is the 360 capable of playing .wav files? If so is this out of the box funcxtionality or do I need to install something?

Thx

You'd need a piece of software that transcodes the .WAV files to stream them but I do not know of anything in use that does have that particular function for those files. Another problem is that .WAV is just a file container and not an actual format. That means that a .WAV file can be encoded with around a dozen different CODECs so it gets complicated unless you've got all the bases covered. But to answer your question more definitively, the Xbox 360 has no native support for those files and never will because it's ancient and non-standardized technology that has been replaced by the MP3 and Microsoft's own Windows Media Audio. Just download the Windows Media Encoder and you can easily convert the .WAV files to WMA or you can use whatever audio program you have on your PC to convert to MP3 or whatever else works for you.
