You WILL need quicktime to play this video

it's about 6.5 megs and it's of the most graphically detailed 3D fighting game ever....by a long shot.

"TGS 2001: Dead or Alive 3 In-Game Movies

People played the game, and we filmed them. It`s just that simple.

October 12, 2001

For months now, Tecmo`s been wowing the world with stunning high res screenshot after high res screenshot of Dead or Alive 3 for the Xbox. One question remained on the minds of many, though ?would the game look as good when actually being played from a standard fighting view?

The answer is yes. The on-going Tokyo Game Show event features Dead or Alive 3 in fully playable form, with a variety of characters and backgrounds selectable. We suspect that any doubts as to the power of this game (and Team Ninja) were quickly silenced upon taking the tiny Japanese controller (which we like very much, by the way) in hand and having a go at the game as any of the characters.

Still don`t believe us? Then download the following movies which we grabbed with our video cameras. Imagine this running at VGA-quality resolution and clarity, and you`ll have a picture of what you can expect in November when the Xbox arrives in America.

Not to mention Games like Halo, DOA3, Madden amped ect all have realtime 5.1 DD.

Halo is going to blow people away when they see it in widescreen on a quality set with some nice DD 5.1 surround.

anyone up for snowboarding?

I've got mine preordered! Does anyone know what games will take advantage of 16:9? I just bought my RCA 61" HDTV, I got home and hooked up my DC to it, it was o.k. But I am hioping for a big improvement with the XBOX. Do all games take advantage of HDTV's? Back to that burn in issue, that really sucks! XBOX was a big reason for me getting my HDTV, any suggestions on how to avoid this?

Does anyone know if the Xbox's HDTV AV Adaptor has component pass-through capability? I know the Xbox can generate 1080i output, but I only have 1 set of HD component inputs on my Mits 65907.

Is there any hope that the adapter will do some kind of pass-thru like the old RF modulators did for SNES (turn on game video when the Xbox is powered, and pass-thru the components from teh STB when not)?

At ~$20, I know it's a pipe dream, but I can dream, can't I? it looks like there are 6 RCA connectors on the unit...

i don't think it's a pass through capable cable. from the pics and info i've seen of the high def a/v pack it has six plugs. three for component video, two for analog audio, one for composite video (what a waste) and supposedly a toslink output.

I don't know about you... but I will have the ultimate control of the XBox if it makes it into my house and onto my primary HT RPTV. My kids, and their friends, currently play with the PS2 on an older, non-HD, Sony 35" TV and I've heard no complaints yet. Still, I consistently find that a game and TV have been left on for days(?) at a time... I guess it depends on the age of the kids playing the games.... Let me know what equipment and software you'll bring with you and I can make a decision as to adopting you. Your looks are irrelevant to me... :)

You know what we really need on these game consoles is a screen protector. I can't believe that microsoft doesn't already realize that...? Maybe that will be an add on!

Not mant games on that list, I may get Madden with Fever. So when you say games will at least run at 480p, that will still be a big improvement over my Dreamcast on my HDTV right? Since my screen is 16:9, I'll have to stretch it like I do normal shows? Still learning....

What inputs does the 61" RCA have? If it has VGA, you need to buy the Dreamcast VGA adapter. 99% of the games can take advantage of it, and they all run at 640x480 progressive.

Even if your set only has component ins, you can buy the Audio Authority VGA > Component and get progressive scan on all your Dreamcast games.

There are a few Dreamcast games that support 16:9. Unfortunately, you can only play in 16:9 mode using composite or S-video.

I only have one set of componet in's, no vga, several s-video and composite. I will have to check into that converter , thanks. I am also trying to vigure out how I can leave my DVD player hooked up to my componet in's when my XBOX gets here, I can't find a componet switch box anywhere, just s-video and composite ones. Now my wife is all woried that I'm going to cause burn-in if I play the XBOX on our new HDTV, so am I, MS should try to do something about that having HDTV support, they have to know a lot of them are projection.

I have been playing video games on my projection tv for years. I have never ever once had a burn in. Just be smart turn contrast down and do not pause game for long periods and you will be fine.
