If you go to SonyStyle.com and click on TV's, there is no longer a Tube section. I have looked all over and can't find any Tube TV's on their website. I guess Sony did discontinue it.

It's ok. But I saw Sony not having them a month ago, not necessarily not on the page but it

not having availability but I really think Trinitron is still in production.

Circuit City removed all Sony tubes from there website recently , I think its a done deal for Sony crt's =/

It's been officially reported elsewhere. The following story appeared April 30, 2007.


"Sony, one of the premier television brands worldwide, will stop making CRT sets for the American market at the end of this month and will not import tube sets into the United States, either. "We still make CRTs, but mainly for India, China, South America and markets other than the U.S.," a company spokesman said."

A sad, sad day for CRT's. Any tube you can buy today, aside from maybe old-stock Sony's, is a piece of crap.
