I´ve only just gotten an ASK Impression A9+. The problem I´m facing is probably banding. In a lot of scenes, where the colors are supposed to show fine shades there is an abrupt change of color. It looks kind of like a computer picture with too few colors. Is that a problem that can be fixed or is the video processing not good enough for home theater ? Please help!

What is driving the projector? If you are using a HTPC it sounds as if your color depth is set too low - try using 32 bit.

It´s a standard Panasonic DVD-Player via S-Video cable.

Hmmm not sure what that could be. Perhaps trying a different DVD player would help but I seriously doubt it. Try the composite video input (single rca input, usually yellow) to see if that changes anything.
