Need 11 (3 ft) XLR cables for processor & amp. Monoprice has the Premier Series (5.65 x 11 = 62) and the Monolith (27.80 x 11 = 306). Is the Monolith worth the extra 244? Any other moderately priced recommendations? Thanks.

This guy claims the Monoprice XLRs are junk, probably for the reasons mentioned in my post on the thread rboster linked.

Judging by the pic in the linked thread, the Monoprice cables look like the quality of the connectors and the workmanship match the price.

Markertek has a good line of XLR cables under the Sescom brand with different brands of star-quad cabling with Neutrik, Switchcraft or Connectronics connectors. They are available in different colors, also:

Canare L-4E6S - $16.95 - 3ft

Belden 1192A - $19.95 - 3ft

Mogami W2534 - $25.95 - 3ft

In a home setting, any of these would provide years of trouble-free service.

Definitely a Mogami fan. I assembled my own with the same cable, and connectors to custom lengths, but this line comes on the 3ft you need.

Plenty that will do the job just fine though.

Order your cables from BlueJeans.
You'll be happy

Blue Jeans makes nice cables, but the question is value. Canare L-4E6S - 3ft. cables are $31.75 each from Blue Jeans. Custom cables, assembled in the U.S., like Blue Jeans cables, are available for about $20 each. Excellent workmanship, same connectors and cable.

If you do want custom cables I recommend these folks, Have Inc. I've gotten a couple dozen Canare Starquad XLR's from them over the years:

Note that the cables are made to order. Any color cable is available. The link above should include Neutrik XX connectors with gold pins. Other Neutrik's are available.

Have also has good prices on the color rings for Neutrik XX's.

Remember this isn't Amazon. The cables are made after you order them and have to be shipped.

bigguy,
Went to the link.
Cable lengths are very limited in options.
To me, custom cables are custom cables especially in length.
That's one reason I DIY.
Custom everything

Let me suggest that you contact Have by email, and ask them for a quote on the lengths that you want. I've had Have make Y-cables and all sorts of other items. Does that make sense? It would likely be more productive to pursue this like you are interested in saving 50% or so on quality cables, not like someone else suggested the idea and you are trying to find fault. Of course the choice is yours...
