XR70 Dealer...

since when is under $500 high end?

I called JandR this morning and was told they will not carry the XR70. Any other ideas?

This is weird and annoying.


I don't mind paying the allegedly full price of $399, but making it hard to buy?


Has anyone checked with OneCall?

Did you happen to enquire about the S97 DVD Player also? I called my local dealer (SoundTrack) this morning. They said that the XR70 is not even on their radar yet and something about a recall on the S97 DVD Player. The person I spoke to was not really very sure had apparently heard that they got a bunch of S97s into their warehouse and then sent them back.

Sorry AksStp I did not inquire about the S97. I have the Zenith 318 and quite happy with it. I'm looking to replace my XR25, I want the XR70 but I'm not going to wait forever.

well the bean counters at panasonic have been watching these forums with much delight. There is so much buzz on the internet for the xr70, that they figured out that they can charge a lot more and hopefully get away with it. who knows if that will really be the case.
