Any tips/tricks when recording old VHS tapes to HDD (and eventually to DVD-R)?


Looks pretty straightforward, but I was just wondering if, for instance, I'd be better off using 'Manual' vs. SP mode... or whether that wouldn't make much difference on really old tapes.
