My 6PG Xtra's blue tube lit up very brightly then shut down with an Fd error code flashing.
I realise that the Fd error is related with the HV circuit, So I checked the following.
Checked the CRT faces and there are no cracks.
Led light on def board does not stay on.
Checked the HV board and the protect 1&2 buttons were in the out position.
I also tried re-seating all the boards.
When I disconnected the blue HV lead the projector functioned normally with the red and green projecting an image with no Fd error code.
I tried reducing the con/bright, but when I re-connected the blue HV lead, the blue tube lit up brightly again and then shut down with the dreaded Fd error.
Any ideas anyone. Please!
