On the fence to buy any one of these 3 - Xtreamer, Ac Ryan or Mvix Ultio. AC Ryan and the Ultio has got component out, Xtreamer doesn't. But its priced very sweetly..Which one should I go for ?

Also I am specific about streaming SD/HD movies wireless.

Which one would perform the best when it comes to wireless streaming ?

Or should I wait for the C-200 ?

I tried wireless streaming with a Dlink DSM-320. Wireless left me with stuttering and conneciton issues. I would use an internal HDD or USB drive.

My first choice would be the Myka.

I have the AC Ryan and it works pretty darn good. I am one of the first adopters and I hope over time that the firmware will improve.

None of them at the moment!

Wait 2 to 4 weeks and look which player does get the better firmware updates!

Then you can decide.

Why would your first choice be Myka? How is it better than ACRyan?

I have no trouble streaming with my Mvix Ultio using wireless connection. I added up the Mvix Nubbin MS-811n wireless dongle for only $39. It takes only few minutes to complete the set up using the fast response remote. To secure my digital home environment, Ultio performs a scan of wireless networks with security encryption like WEP 64/128, WPA and WPA2. It also offers numerous awesome features with reasonable price!..

I heard wireless streaming is pretty good with the xtreamer as far as its SD stuff..But xtreamer doesn't have a component out.. Arrrggghhhh.

But I would like to know how the others fare when it comes to wireless streaming of HD stuff.. Need opinions from users of any of the players in the group?

Is Mvix known for releasing firmware updates often ? Any independent reviews of the Ultio out yet?

this is a spam message, and they're all over the web with a similar tone and content, also on my blog where I've blogged about my experiences with the MVix Ultio (see similar spam comments by music_gaga & techgirl @ http://*******/OcHmN ).

The Mvix Nubbin MS-811n does NOT work currently with the MVix Ultio, but MVixUSA are working on it (although they will make another one which will be dedicated to the Ultio available before). This has been confirmed by MVixUSA support.

Read the review..Thanks for the heads up on the wifi issue..Wireless streaming is a much needed feature for me..Ultio is out of my equation..atleast for now.

But the Nubbin wireless N is not supported by mvixusa. Are you talking about a beta device?

My Ultio streams 720p fine over ethernet.

The C-200 is not available and twice the price (or more). Obviously if you can get it for the same price as the other units, or price doesn't matter, you'd be safer with it.

My Ultio streams fine over ethernet. Wireless N is not yet supported. Wireless G is.

Bob, it's because the reply was quite obviously a fake comment that the net is riddled with.

It seems that MVixUSA has hired a company to add positive comments around the forums and blogs. Just look at the comment where it states "It takes only few minutes to complete the set up using the fast response remote." - no sane person would write like that.

I've written about this (and why I sent my Ultio back for an Xtreamer instead) on the third post about my Ultio here . You might also want to read about further experiences with the Ultio in Part 1 and Part 2

I would like to note, again, that the Ultio isn't bad, the same unit (basically) as the AC Ryan PlayOn unit which has received good reviews (checkout MPCClub.com).

Regarding the Xtreamer, nope, haven't received it (they ship it August 10th), but from what I can read around the net, it seems people who have it are pretty satisfied (most mentioned annoyance is the fan noise, which Xtreamer claim they are fixing two ways. 1. putting in a new fan for Rev2 of the unit which I am getting and 2. implementing automatic fan speed control - we'll see if it happens :X).

Personally, if I had a hifi system that could do decoding of DTS sound, I would not have sold/returned my MVix Ultio (as I've mentioned, it's not a bad unit really). Good alternatives seems to be the AC Ryan PlayOn (basically the same as MVix Ultio inside, but its prettier imho) or the more expensive Popcorn Hour or TViX units if you can afford to spend the money.

Have you checked the Myka?
