Any owners care to point out their good/bad points? I have read that the 2300 is a very good player with no chroma bug, but it is a little more than I want spend right now. How they in interlaced & progressive modes? Any special features: scaling, zoom, etc?

I have the Yamaha 6480 and I love it. It has the same PQ as the very popular Panasonic models (Faroudja DCDi) and top notch DVD-A playback at a very affordable price point.


No it does not scale non-anamorphic DVDs and I dont think its Zoom feature is very useful.


Some negatives about the unit, it doesnt display time remaining and it can not be powered on/off via its remote.

Is the the 6480 a discontinued model? I don't see it on Yamaha's website, but they do show a 6280.
