Yamaha HTR-5760 vs. Outlaw 970 as a pre/pro

My current setup is Yamaha 5760 as a pre/pro, Crown XLS-402 powering 2 front JBL S-310's, Carver AV505 powering a JBL S-Center, 2 S-36's, and 2 N24's.

Would the outlaw 970 pre/pro be considered an upgrade from the Yamaha as a pre/pro only. I listen to about 70% movies and 30% music. I'm looking for more clarity and detail in movies. Has anyone replaced a similar yamaha with the outlaw?

You'll get more of an improvement in changing your center speaker than going from a 5760 to a 970..


I just replaced a Polk cs350 w/ a CSi5 and the difference is night and day.


Audition different centers and you'll see what I mean.
