Yamaha RX-V1400 and Bi-wire speakers

703 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  yamaklipsch
Hey guys just a quick question. I just bought myself a yamaha rx-v1400 receiver and I am going through the set up. My wharfedale speakers I can biwire but I have never done so as I believed that you wouldnt get anything extra (using my old sony str-db780) But I see that you can biwire these speakers through the yammies a + b setting.

So basically the question is, is it worth it?

i have a yamaha rxv 1000 biwired to paradigm studio 80 .It makes a difference.Just hook up to speaker a.
Whether you use bi-wire, or cable jumpers, get rid of the plates on the back of the speakers. Don't use them.

If the A & B are not separate channels it won't make much of a difference if any. If your amp has pre-outs and direct inputs and your not using a couple of channels (5.1) you could passively bi-amp your fronts and would make a worthwhile difference.
I posted this same question on the Klipsch forum and am awaiting replies. Is there any benefit of bi-wiring my RF-3IIs with my Yamaha 1400 AVR.
