Yamaha RX-v2600 receiver repair worth it?

My HDMI OUT outlet is broken and my question is it worth it to get it repair? I want to have my PS2 (playstation 2) upconvert to my TV, because the PS2 look like crap on my Sony XBR2 using component. Those of you that have PS2 and upconvert through HDMI see any major improvements say from component? The repair is going to be around $170 without warranty. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

Considering that 2600 is a good receiver and you will not be able to utilize HDMI related features, I would say it is worth getting repaired - unless you don't need those HDMI features at all.
