They have different model numbers for marketing purposes but for all practical purposes they are the same. I believe they made a slight change...cosmetically or perhaps something else insignificant, just to differentiate them. This becomes important when stores that have exclusive selling rights get asked about price matching...they can then say these are 2 different receivers.
