Yamaha RX-V463 or RX-797

Going to graduate school and want to buy a good inexpensive stereo setup. I'm only going to be purchasing two speakers (no surround...probably gunna get NS-555 or NS-777), so i was wondering if it would be better to buy an A/V 5.1 receiver like the the RX-V463 and run it in stereo mode, or buy a true stereo receiver like the RX-797?


What are the advantages or disadvantages of each setup?

What did you decide upon. Right now, I'm thinking of getting two NS777s and calling it a day.
