I've just bought a RX-V565 and connected it to my Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray and my monitor both via HDMI. When I turn the blu-ray player on the samsung logo appears briefly on the screen and then disappears and the monitor says no signal. I've searched through forums and not found a similar problem. I've tried changing the settings on the blu-ray to 720p and 1080p and neither resolution works (my monitor supports both) I've been through the receivers settings and can't find anything that may be wrong. I've tried changing the HDMI cable's but that doesn't fix it either.

The receiver works fine when using my Wii but that's connected by composite.

Any suggestions?

If you just connect the Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray to your monitor using HDMI, and completely disconnect the RX-V565, do Blu-Ray disks play properly? (In two channel audio only when connected just to the tv, of course...)

Yes, if I connect it directly blu-ray's play fine, have done for a while now. I bought the receiver to get surround sound and so I could connect my wii to my monitor (there are no composite connections on it)

What display are you using? How old is it?

It's a viewsonic vx2260wm, it's about a year old. It supports HDCP but I'm beginning to think it may be a HDCP problem? I've ordered a component cable so I can connect the blu-ray player to the receiver that way and see if that works. Lower quality I know but at least it would work...
