I'm trying to figure out if the following configuration is possible without causing damage to any components!!

First, check out the back speaker connection terminals from pic.

The Configuration is 5.1 with front LR bi-amp + Zone2, it seems feasible with all those terminals available.

However, from the manual, there seems to be no such scenario illustrated. Assign the extra sp to Zone2 (page54 *a note on the end) and set the Bi-amp to on (page64). It seems that when extra sp is assigned, there will be no signal out to the surround-back/bi-amp terminals, if that's the case, it could damage the bi-amp speakers!!?

As best I can tell from a quick Web search, the 765 has only 7 amplifiers. If you biamp the fronts in a 5.1 configuration, there are no amps available for another zone.

In general, using a receiver to bi-amp doesn't provide any benefit, since its total power output is still limited by the common power supply. In order to improve the headroom in your audio system, you need to provide additional power in the form of external amps.

What kind of damage to a bi-amp speaker if there's no bass signal output to it in a bi-amp setup?
