I have a good lead on RX-Z11. I know it’s a bit long in the tooth, but wondering if this is a better deal at $1500 then paying the extra $$ and getting a new Onkyo 5010. I know the Onkyo has a few newer surround sound modes and some newer features. Still wondering from an amp comparison and from an overall sound quality. When new the RX-Z11 was about double the price of the current Onkyo 5010. Input is appreciated.

Where can you get the Z11 for $1500?

And it lacks HDMI 1.4, lacks HDMI ports, and runs extremely hot--while it won't overheat, the onboard fans kick on quite often even if left in open area. It's also extremely heavy (about 75lbs) and will need a sturdy stand.

On the flip side there's no receiver in the HDMI 1.3 era or above that matches the RX-Z11 in pure power, I believe soundandvision has measured it to run 160W x 7. The 5010 is no slouch either, it should perform even better than the 3010 which was measured by hometheater.com at 130W x 7.
