Has anyone tried this function with this system?
I might be worried about the future proofing of my system if this function is sub-par.
What I really want to know is - if I get an HD DVD/BD player in the future, are there players that can send an HDMI signal to the video and a 5.1 Toslink or a 5.1 analog audio stream simultaneously?
I thought that was what I could do with any player, but the more I read the more I feel I screwed the pooch on this one.
My biggest misconception was that HDMI was a video only source. Does this mean that anyone who does not have HDMI input and the ability to process that signal will have to ultimately upgrade their receiver?
I have until the 24th to return my system, PLEASE HELP!!!
