Hi guys,

Myself and a couple of friends have been lookign at trying this Gatorboard for screen use. Posts on here have mentioned there is no visible maufacturer markings on the sheets themselves. My question is, how do you know you are being sold exactly what you want and not something else like FoamCore etc?

Gator board has a HARD SKIN. Ie., non absorptive. You could put water on it and it would not soak in. The skin can also be cracked and broken.


Tough and hard skin---- and foam core is soft and papery.


You need the non-absorptive hard skin to keep it stiff and straight when coating it with Goo, for example.


The foam core damages too easily and it warps from the painting. This can be ameliorated by coating both sides but the too soft skin is still an issue.
