You have to love best buy

Well I ordered my Tosh and it arrived today. I happened to be down at the store interested in buying some movies. I happened to mention to the sales guy about a lower price (mentioned on this site somewhere else) and guess what. He said sure we will price match. I was dumb founded. Well two seconds later I am up at the register with him and they are taking $50 off the price (which is even better because I had been given a $100 gift card as a bday gift so I was already ahead of the game) so I told them I just wanted a gift card because I was going to get movies anyways. So I go and pick out four remember last week they had a buy 3 get a $25 gift card. Well I should play the lottery because the sale is no longer on but they matched it anyways so four movies cost me a grand total of $37 bucks.

Man I either hit it just right or fail miserably.

Now onto the testing and viewing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally someone sticks it to BB.
they generally have the most current list printed out of competitor pricing and don't just take your word for it.
They will usually match store for store and internet for internet. Usually they are not going to be higher then their competition. I have found that out on several occasions. Sounds like you got lucky or had someone waiting on you that did not do his job.
they do NOT pricematch the internet

Sorry I meant to reply that they will never pm the internet or competitors unless the item is specifically in a printed ad. Edit is just reflecting that.
Even on HD DVD movies? Amazon.com movies are always cheaper than BBs are.

Yeah, cause they force you to shop there, right?

I tried price matching Amazon's prices on Tuesday and they said no dice.

Nope. But why so bitter?

And did you ever hear me say they forced me to shop there?
They were giving 12% off a month ago.
It has to be a competitor like Circuit City. I originally bought my receiver for 199 dollars and then noticed Circuit CIty had it for 169 dollars. They would not match it because it was a internet special. Returned the item to Best Buy and ordered the exact same item for 30 dollars less. The Circuit City in store price was exactly the same price as Best Buy.
I've never successfully had BB price match anything. It just pisses me off so much I've stopped trying. If it wasn't for the Reward Zone and no interest on large purchases I'd stop shopping there altogether. They could also learn a thing or two from CC about in-store pickup for online purchases. It takes them hours to get something off the shelf, where CC has a 24 minute guarantee or you get a $24 gift card.
I've been able to price match at BB twice. Because Circuit City had $10 cheaper 360 controller and 12-month subsciption of live, so I saved $20 that day :)
I have a BB and CC in my town and I can't remember actually buying anything from either of them. Top prices and arrogant sales droids in both.

I've gotten better prices on the net.

When I do buy locally, Sears will usually make a deal that matches BB or CC sale prices + 10 % of the difference.

Sam's sometimes has some buys, as does Wally World. Wally's 90 day return policy is hard to beat.
