I know that War of the Worlds is the standard that all should aspire to be, but other than that, what do you guys use for demo material.


If it is music, list it.


If it's a movie please try and narrow it down by scene name, or timeframe..

War of the Worlds - lightning, tripod emerging.

Star Trek 2009 - planet implosion.


All I can think of for now. I don't use music - not much makes use of the lowest octave the horns are designed to excel in.

If the speakers can play these songs great - and loud, they will do just fine with movies. Music is more critical and of higher importance to me.


For subs, so long as they sound good for music, you can run sine waves to make sure their low end performance is where it needs to be. It's not like all the fake explosions in movies are a true testament to their performance. And when in doubt, add more subs and more amps. Done.

Check out Scubasteve's thread with the demo disc he put together. I've been using that ever since. The convenience of putting one disc in that gives people a demo of various material without getting up and waiting on disc change is priceless!
