Your thoughts on 4 sealed 390ho

Looking for feedback.
4 sealed 390ho 3-6cu ftft box
Nx6000d or
Crown with Mdsp.

I am thinking sealed. From what I have read there easier to tune ?

3 up front behind AT screen ( want to keep the depth under 20 inch )
1 behind the coach @ 20ft

I can get 4 390ho for 1000$ CND funds
Trying to stay under 2k for everything.

Basement
8 ft celling

L shape

I am take the long side for the HT.
14w X 30
The other half is 13w x 20

Open to ideas.

Open to ported. If theres a side port option or dose it matter with a AT screen

The 460ho will be 1k for 2 of them.

I'm not sure about shipping, but DIYSG buyout 15s look to be a good option.

Here's more info on them: Eminence 15 subwoofer and midbass information
@Schurter

I ran 2 sealed 390HF----"DROOOOOOL" in my room they crush, I wish i had the funds to get two more

also in my room it plays strange tricks on roll-off and stuff dont go 6FT- youll need HPF then-- Mine were 4.3 and i ran 500w with no filters

Depends on needs. The 390HO rolls off pretty early in sealed, but if you put 2 of them in a 3.5cuft sealed box they will best the output of a single UM15 in the same box with the same power (600w) from 40Hz and above, and match the UM from 40Hz down. All while keeping excursion in check, based on a quick model in WinISD.

If you're looking to do 4 separate boxes with 1 driver each, the UM15 is a better bet for higher SPL down lower. Although being on concrete (I assume as you said basement) that may not be the case.
I have looked at this.
Just being in canada shipping and exchange will kill me.

I am look at there htm 12 for my L C R
Can I get down to 17hz
With this setup.

I quess is my question
I want the best bang for the buck for HT build
I personally love sealed, and they're certainly the easiest enclosures to make, tend to be smallest, easy to tune with DSP or a LT, and are by far the most forgiving of miscalculations, but they're definitely not the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to output. That's ported all day long and twice on Sundays.

Would I be better off looking at something like the vbss with rss460ho and build 2 of them

Vs 4 sealed 15 390ho
I mean it really depends on your goals. I like sealed boxes. I also like multiple subwoofers for helping smooth response (and I like how they look!). Do you want a ton of output, or are you willing to trade some of that for placement flexibility etc. Room size, your amplifier and DSP choices also play a role here. There isn't a right answer, except all else equal ported will give you more output for a given driver. VBSS is a good design, I just love my sealed box collection.

Between those choices I'd personally rather the 4 boxes.
