I've been playing around with my new Yamaha 1400 for the last 10 days and I'm not sure how I'd like to run the YPAO. I've tried setting it to equalize flat, fronts, low but i'm not sure I completely satisfied with any of the configurations the YPAO has come up with. I think the setup to fronts has been the closest i've come to the sound I like.

I've read that some suggest using the graphic equalizer to manually set the speakers after YPAO runs but I'm not very good at using equalizers.

Can some of you give me some hints as to what you have done to get a great sound. My room is a 10 by 14 and I'm running Axiom m2is fronts, QS4 surrounds, VP100 centre and EP125 for a sub.

How would equalizing to mids sound? any thoughts are welcome.

Well i got the htr 5790 which is the same model with a different number, and to tune my avr's ypao I used a sound pressure meter to calibrate and fine tune my system and it made a big difference along with a good setup dvd like Avia or Sound and Vision.
