YSP1100 off ebay?

843 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  blue comet
I can't find a decent deal on a YSP1100 so I am starting to consider ebay. The items listed are boxed, but I'm not sure if they are refurbished, used and reboxed, etc. I'm not very familiar with audio equipment. Is there any negatives from buying a used audio component. Do they wear out?

If I don't get this off ebay I'll probably just order a CT500 from a reputable online store.

Thanks!

6th ave Electronics has the YSP1100 on sale for $548.00 deliverd ..factory new.. consider also that they are an authorized Yamaha retailer. buy off ebay from an non authorized dealer and the thing breaks your out of luck as far as warranty . ..
Great! Thanks for the response.
bought mine off ebay a couple months ago for $262.00. it was missing a couple things due to being an open box sale, but it worked perfectly. i purchased the things that were missing directly from yamaha, about $100.00 extra. just be sure when buying to see if the items are "b" class or refurbished if you're considering a brand new unit. these units are usually half of what you would pay new, and are just as good-some even offer warranties.

I am seeing listing for a "factory sealed, refurbished" unit but it also says "b class". What exactly does "b class" mean?

Thanks!
B class merchandise ranges from open box to store return/ store excess.. Liquadators buy this stuff .. If you go for this try to at least get a couple days tryout to see if the thing works
