I currently have my Z1 hooked up to my HD receiver using component cables. I watched a few HD shows using my OTA antenna and they looked good. I really wasn't "WOW'ed" though. My HD receiver does have RGB output on it. Would these HD shows look better if I was using the RGB cable instead of component cables?

BTW, the settings on my HD receiver (it's a Hughes HTL-HD) are as follows:

For any 480i or 480p material, it ouputs it to 480p.

For any 720p or 1080i material, it ouputs it to 1080i.

Thanks.

It wouldn't matter if you use component over RGB vice versa. If the picture doesn't look a lot better than from you DVD, then there is something wrong.

Yes, it is better to use the RGB output of your HD receiver with the Z1.

The component input on the Z1 is good with DVD's, but it doesn't seem to have the bandwidth to handle all of the HD signal without clipping some of the detail, making the picture look soft.

Via RGB, you'll get that "WOW" factor again...
