I'm (about to be, pending pj delivery) new to the whole front projection thing, and like most in my position, I want the biggest picture possible. However, I don't want to have a big CRAPPY picture, but I'd like to build my screen soon.


First, the room:


18'x12' (image projected onto the 12' wall)

Fully light controlled


Second, the projector:


Sanyo PLV-Z1



I'm thinking I'm going to do a parkland screen for the time being, then try a super deluxe setup if the parkland isn't satisfactory, and finally I'll just drop the cash on a screen if the super deluxe isn't up to snuff either.


Anyway... Question is, at what size does the image quality begin to degrade noticeably with the Z1?

Also, seating can be at either (from screen to the viewers' eye) 12'-13' or can be at 16'-18'.

Check mine out. It is 106" diag. I don't think I would want to go any bigger than that.

Mines at 92" an feel that at 10 feet back its about as large as I'd go for that seating distance and projector.
