I´ve had my Z2 for more than 3 months and since the first time when running in low lamp mode my Z2 jumps to a very high speed fan. Very, very noisy! The strange thing is that this problem sometimes doesn't appear at all. Even in very hot days. But sometimes it appears in cold days!

If I let the projector on without a signal - Blue screen - taking care not to let it go off - for more than an hour the problem never appears. But if I give it a dvd signal after this hour, in two minutes the projector jumps to this very high noisy mode.

Does anyone know and can help me with this problem?? The official techs here in Brazil don't know what to do.

PS1: I've checked the exaust temperature with a digital thermometer. With blue screen without signal it measured 91ºC - no high fan speed. With dvd signal when reaching 88ºC the projector jumps to the very high speed mode.

PS2: When running well recorded - very good rate transfer - dvds, this problem has never appeared.

I'm at the office right now, so I can't doublecheck on my Z2, but I think the auto-greyscale setting will crank up lamp brightness as needed. Which will give you the higher fan speed.

That's all I've got for now. Check all your picture settings for anything set to auto.

Take a look also at the air filter of your Z2. Maybe you have too much dust in the air filter and you have to replace it, or it could have a problem as new.

Forgive me for any mistakes in language, my english are good but not perfect!

Cool!! I notice that my Z1 did the same. I will turn the grey scale off also and see if my fan does go down a little more quiter.

I mean it never did bother us before, but to think about it, I never really need the grayscale on since my screen is painted silverscreen by buhr paint.
