Hey Folks,

I have had my z5 since Jan of 07 and it has 2070 hrs on the bulb. The LAMP REPLACE light (orange) has come on about a week ago.
I tried resetting the thermal thingy in the unit. That did no good, I guess i need a new bulb, unless you folks know something I dont.

Help!!!Please

If i do need a new bulb which one of the AVS FORUMS stores would be the best to go to. I bought the projector at visual apex 2 years ago.

Thanks

Sorry,

The thermal switch, was what I was talking about, people who have had a problem with their lamps, have had sanyo service reps tell them how to reset the thrermal switch because high temputures have tripped it. But that is not my problem, I opened the unit and the switch has not been tripped. I dont belive resetting the counter on the unit will solve the problem either, because its just a counter. I dont want to reset it and come to find out it does nothing and lose track of how many hours I have on the unit.

That Lamp Replace light is controlled by the counter. It will NOT go away until you reset it. But, as long as the projector continues to function, there is no other reason to reset it. Some projectors will shut down if the counter is not reset. If that does not apply to yours, then you have a minor annoyance if you want to keep the counter going.

I would suggest you take the time to read the manual, all of this is explained. If you don't have the manual, you can d/l it here...

Thanks for the info,

I did reset the counter, and the bad light did go out. I wrote the hours on a post-it note and taped it to the back of the unit so when I do want to sell it down the line, I will have the correct mileage.
