No I havent bought it yet, but I guess I will. I had bought the GBA version to play on game boy player since I don't own the snes anymore. But since it would be annoying hooking the GC back up to do that, I might as well buy it for the wii VC. That is the only one I dont already have on a GC or Wii disc....

I also have the GBA version, but it doesn't look to great on the big screen at the gameboy resolution. This one should look much better.

I'm surprised they released this, considering that the GBA version is still available just about everywhere.

I guess there's hope that the VC will see other GBA rereleases like SMB3 before they're taken off the market for the GBA.

I doubt I'll purchase it though. I still use my GBA SP quite a bit (beat Minish Cap last night) and I've still got my SNES for use on my 27" SDTV. How does the VC game handle being stretched to 16:9?

One of the two best SNES games ever made, arguably the best Zelda. Certainly a timeless classic worth the money. (Something that cannot be said for every other VC game with the exception of SM64)

It looks and plays just great on Wii as well. Not too blocky even at 50".

Super Mario World. The last great 2D platformer on a console.

Acceptable answers

- NHL Hockey '94

- Final Fantasy 3/6

- Yoshi's Island

- Chrono Trigger

- NBA Jam

- Kirby's Avalanche (mm, maybe)

In order, I'd pick Final Fantasy 3/6 followed very very closely by Chrono Trigger.

Actually guys Zelda A link to the past was originally released on the NES (not SNES) in April of 1992. Also it was the second installment not the third.

A Link to the Past was for the SNES, released in '92. The Adventure of Link was the second NES game, released in '88.

Getting your Final Fantasy releases mixed up there, which is easy to do.

Final Fantasy III on the Famicom was remade into Final Fantasy III on the DS.

Final Fantasy III on the SNES (which was Final Fantasy VI on the Super Famicom) is being ported to the GBA as Final Fantasy VI Advance, to be released early next month.

Super Metroid?

Without hesitation. I have played and continue to play A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. Those games have incredible replay value.

However, I should mention, I never got around to playing some of the other games.

++ Zelda 2 (adventure of link) was a horrid game
LttP only existed on the SNES (Super Famicon).

Also, my personal favorites of that era? god that's a hard pick, in no particular order games I spent insane amounts of time playing are:

Zelda: LttP

FF6

Chrono Trigger

Super Metroid

F-Zero

Mario Paint (for different reasons it was highly addictive
)

Donkey Kong Country

Most of the NHL and Madden iterations throughout

Super Bomberman

Super Mario World

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind currently. I definately played some other titles I enjoyed, but those are the best (other titles that were amusing but not so well done include Clay Fighter)

Mario Paint could work good with the Wiimote
