Mine worked too! Got the upgrade this afternoon. And as if it could get better...Played with my SS antenna and got ALL but one of the OTA HD stations!


It has been such a "work in progress" to get the equipment, get it working, tweak it and then get it working...not sure what I'm gonna do now....


Maybe finally just enjoy my BEAUTIFUL HD Picture!!!

I thought the 1.04.00 upgrade occured in April.

However, Monday night I had to unplug - replug my unit because it did not respond to the remote and could not find a signal. When I checked the software version, it was still 1.04.00 updated in April with no info on future updates.

Anyone else?

I got my upgrade to 1.04 as well afternoon of the ninth. But the date of the upgrade showed the current date. Hopefully I am through with the twice daily upgrade attempts and can just sit back and enjoy my wonderful picture. I don't think I had any of the issues that the upgrade fixed but it is nice to know that my box doesn't need to be sent anywhere. Thanks to whoever mangaged to get through the D* or Zenith support. I gave up trying to talk to anybody that could help with D*.

Got my upgrade yesterday too. I'd also like to thank the member who referred me to the circuit city sale. I was told I got one of the last ones in New England. Fantastic product for the money.

I've got the 1.04.00 firmware on my SAT-520 ( purchased August 2003 ) - however there are still a couple of 'bugs' -


Occasionally the box will not receive any DirectTV channels until I physically unplug the power to reset it. This happens quite often to be very annoying.


If I toggle digital Input between Cable or HD, the slots available on the SURF for OTA channels gets cleared and will not accept any new OTA assigments until the box is cold reset via the power plug.


Occasionaly I lose the audio on channel (esp on Discovery HD Theater), and I can get it back by flipping to another channel and back.


The box has cold-reset itself once in the middle of a movie. You have to wait for it to scan channels etc.


The box continues to forget all deleted channels when you cold reset it ( the surf assigments, however, are ok )


Any idea if these are firmware related and can be fixed?

I just got D* and my 520 which I"ve been using for OTA since last year (currently has original version 1.00.00) has been trying to upgrade over the last couple of days. The new version says it will be HD2-104. This doesn't sound right. The software upgrade has been unsuccessful each time it has tried. The D* CSR said to unplug the unit (what else) and try again. My guess is it may be the wrong upgrade.


Anyone get this on their 520? Any help is appreciated!
