I just got off the phone with John Taylor at Zenith. John indicated the new 3rd generation Zenith HD STB will be available by the end of August or beginning of September. In other words we are only a few weeks away. Prior rumors were untrue.

Aw man! Just ordered the Tosh DST3000 as I got tired of waiting for the Zenith. Still, if the Zenith turns out to be as good as expected, it may be worth switching.

I just called Zenith to verify the late August/early September arrival date.The salesperson told me the Zenith

DTV-1080 would be available in September. Hopefully, this date will be firm since 2 Zenith agents have verified it.

I know you have been waiting for this for awhile and the news is great. I really wanted it by September 9th when Band of Brothers premieres on HBO.


Have you seen this unit in person? Have you seen the onscreen guide and menu system?


Also, where are you purchasing yours? Any reputable Zenith internet dealers?

Question: Has anyone checked to see if the STB has the DVI port on it?

I would not think that it does.


If it does not I would sugest that you wait until they provide the version that does unless you like buying STB's!!
