Hi,

I have ZP 4.03 and I just tried playing an MPEG-2 encoded .mpg file with a resolution of 1024x576, 29.97 framerate and regular MPEG-1 Layer 2 48KHz, 256Kbps stereo audio(info obtained via GSpot) on my computer, and it was stuttering to no end. I tried playing it on WMP10 with the same effect. I then tried WinDVD6 and it played ok.

I have an S754 A64 3200+ on an Chaintech VNF3-250 board clocked to 2.55GHz, 1GB PC4000 memory and a 6800GT, so I don't think processing power is the issue here. I checked my CPU usage using task manager while playing it on ZP/WMP10 and it wasn't even high at all (~30% for ZP, ~20% for WMP10) so does anyone know why it's stuttering like hell? Increasing priority via task manager to "High" didn't do anything for performance either.

Thanks!

I'm using Intervideo video and audio filter(from WinDVD6), and ffdshow isn't running with MPEG-2 material so there's no post processing/resizing going on. What else do you want to know? AC3Filter is also running.

Hmm, actually, I tried disabling AC3Filter and it defaults to ffdshow audio decoder now, with much smoother playback, but it still stutters a bit, just a lot less. I guess it has something to do with the audio renderer/decoder, but I'm not sure why? Is there something wrong with AC3Filter v1.01a?

What's the latest version of AC3Filter anyway? According to the sourceforge website 0.70b was released July 03, but 1.01 RC5 is being distributed and it was released May 04.
